Dan had just had his braces removed. His girlfriend is an ortho-assistant, too. So we HAD to show off those very expensive nice looking teeth! Dan is also a very outgoing, very fun guy, so to have him laughing was SO him. The only problem, when you paint a portrait 100% from life, and you have a person doing something they can not hold, it can be challenging. So we had a very fun plan, he would sit like normal and then when he needed to laugh we would tell jokes and we were both laughing for many hours. I would say that painting Dan was the most fun I ever had while painting. Dan also had taken band and played a few instruments, so he was doing cheek relaxing exercises as I painted away on other areas. What fun!
